The Soviet Air Forces were actively used in the Afghani war (1979-1989). For this period it is made more than 1 200 000 combat sorties, 114 planes and 333 helicopters are lost. List  published below covered about 60-70%  losses up to 1985 and 100% Soviet losses for the period 1985-1989 (also some losses of our Afghani friends are mentioned):
